Boycottr does not collect personal identification information, location data, contact information, browsing history, or device identifiers for tracking purposes.
The App requires camera access to scan barcodes and take photos of products. Camera data is processed locally on your device, used solely for product identification, and never stored, uploaded, or shared. You can revoke camera permissions at any time through your device settings.
When you scan a barcode or search for a product, the barcode number or search query is sent to our product database servers. This data is used solely to return product information to you. We do not associate lookup requests with individual users.
Product and brand information discovered through lookups may be cached in our shared database to improve lookup speed for all users. This cached data contains only product information (such as product names, brand names, and brand ownership), not user identifiers.
Your scan history is stored locally on your device only, not uploaded to any server, and under your complete control—you can delete it at any time.
If you contribute product or brand information for unrecognized barcodes, this data is stored anonymously in our shared database without any link to your identity. These contributions help improve the app for all users.
The App may use third-party services such as Open Food Facts and other open-source product databases to provide product information. These services may have their own privacy policies.
Transactions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment information. Purchase records are managed by Apple according to their privacy policy.
We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics to improve the App. This data cannot be used to identify individual users and does not include personal information.
We implement appropriate technical measures to protect any data transmitted to our servers. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
You have the right to delete your local scan history at any time, revoke camera permissions through device settings, and uninstall the App and all associated local data.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date.
